I've priced it out many times and it is cheaper to reload, as long as you get the parts at a good price and do not count your time. With the cost of equipment you do not make it up right away but I have to say the enjoyment I get out of it has a value. I killed an elk this year with one of my loads, how cool is that.
My brother and I went in on a shotgun reloader and it cost out that we would have to make 6600 rounds to pay for it and they way my brother shoots it was paid for in about 3 months, and now it has been rebuilt here and there a few times now and is still cost effective. On my rifle and handgun reloading I've yet to wear anything out but my trimmer will probably be the first to go.

Yeah, reloading is cheaper and you can make up a lot more different loads than you can buy. And I get a lot of enjoyment and relaxation from it. I haven't shot factory ammo for years.
