We will be taking a trip up to the camp on the 10th to start bringing up supplies and setting up the sleeping structure. Deer starts the 17th and Elk on the 31st. In between I'll do some goose and duck when I can. Anyone else as excited as I am. I'm a bit behind as I still have not found a 7mm recipe that I like for the Barnes 150 TSX, and now I'm moving onto the TTSX. Some shots can be over 400yds, but last year the one that was shot in my scope by the guy besides me was about 90yds.

What part of the state do you hunt big game in? I've drew a big buck tag for Area 40 in the Owyhees here in So. West Idaho. Season doesn't start until Nov.1st.

Bumping area in Eastern Washington, deer starts on October 17th, I'll probably only hunt a couple days, and got a week off to hunt elk and that starts October 31. We have to shoot 3 point or better on deer and spikes only for elk.

After trimming, not as much as I'd like but still quite a bit. Probably ended up with 25lbs of tenderloin and backstrap and then over 50lbs of burger with 8% fat, 25lbs of Summer sausage and 30 lbs of breakfast sausage, roughly.
I stopped on the way home and gave my Dad about 3lbs of backstrap. He looked like a kid at Christmas time.

Good on you Camaro. Looks about like the first elk I shot. We're still deer hunting. Our season lasts until the 24th. We've seen lots of deer but so far no horns, just does and fawns. We did see a wolf yesterday though. He was in the burn area from this past summer. Absolutely no vegetation, just blackened ground and he was running right through it. Really surprised to see him there.
