Hey I'm new to this forum and I'm dying to get into coyote hunting. I have the gear, I just need some ideas on where to go and what to do to bring in a coyote. I know nobody's gonna tell me their best hunting spots, im just asking for general areas and what kind of areas to look for. Im also grateful for any tips I can get. I'm also interested in any other kind of varmint hunting if you know of some good places for it. I've been thinking of badgers but don't know where to even start looking. Thanks in advance for any help

Hey levi, Welcome to the forums. Why don't you think about joining the club. If you start coming to meetings, get to know some of the members and showing that you're really interested some of them will probably offer to take you out and show you the ropes. Other than that all I can say is to get yourself some good maps that show BLM land and hunt there.

drive the roads and look for sign tracks scat ect. If you find an area where there is allot of dark black scat stop and look for a high spot. make note of where the wind is coming from in regards to the spot your going to set up on. come back to that spot early morning when the air is more calm, if there is a breeze keep it in your face or crosswind, set up in front of some object, tree, sage, rocks ect. have a close reed distress call, just blow on it 2 or 3 times wait 2 or 3 min. then repeat, wait again keep up this sequence for 15 to 20 min. then move on. good luck predators west
