I was able to order a box (brick?) of these and have them shipped to my motel while I was up killing ground squirrels in NE California. I spent a large portion of one day shooting them out of my CZ Model 452, to see how they would do compared to the standard 17HMR ammunition. For those who don't know, CCI released this ammunition stating that it pushes the 17 grain VMax bullet 100fps faster than any previous 17HMR ammo. Here is the video and there are links to the article at the end: Feel free to ask any questions you may have, or let me know your thoughts! Eric

Others on a .17hmr site did not have much luck with the ammo. I'm glad it is working for you.

I read the reports from over there (.net)... BTW, with regards to price, you can find it online at prices hovering around $49.50 $46.77 (they just dropped the price today) a box of #200 ($11.69 a box of #50). That's a dollar and change more than the best price I can find 17HMR per #50, for a bit more oomf! Of course, if your rifle doesn't like it, stick with what works. I'm not directing this at you, but a lot of folks just don't realize how rimfires work. I have had duplicates of guns, made by the same manufacturer (CZ M452) that each shot a particular ammo differently. One shot a certain brand/style/weight, well and in the other it was very poor. You have to test what works in your rifle. Also, many people who hunt with me think I am anal, but I sight in my rifles when I make a LOT change on rimfire ammo. That's why I try a lot of different brands, etc, and if it works well, I try to buy as much as I can of the same lot. Btw, there are other folks out there using it with great results, so that proves out the point above. Eric

Thanks Eric,
Even in centerfire rifles, every rifle I have owned shoots different loads differently. Bullet weights, powder charges, primers, cases, they all make a difference for different rifles accuracy.
So why would a rimfire rifle be any different. I have noticed in my Ruger 10/22, different brands of ammo, shoot different, Remington Gold Bullets, and Winchester Lead Hollow Points (White Box 500 rds) shoot similarly, but Federal ammo will shoot way off.
Right now, with the condition of the market being the way it is, prices are going to be somewhat higher, it is something we all are going to have to tighten our belts a bit, if we want to continue to do what we love, SHOOT!

It got so scarce for a while that I would buy a brick of .17hmr and hope for the best. It was a long time till I found a half way decent price where I could buy another brick at a time so when it was available I bought it without trying a single box. I use to buy one box at a time, try it and if it grouped to a big buy. Not any more, to iffy if I'll see it again. Cabelas seems to have it more often with larger numbers but you pay, and pay dearly. I can reload .223 cheaper and have better accuracy. But, I love to shoot the .17hmr so I pay a little more and just suck it up. They are so great for ground squirrels.
