Idaho Varmint Hunters was invited to attend the Sportsman's Warehouse Outdoor Film Tour Wed. July 15th - Nampa ID.
IVH Sat up a booth to talk to people about the Club and our events coming up soon. We got a few new names on our mailing list. We will be sending out a new booklet that we have produced showing dates of all of our events for the coming season.
As Loren talked to the new Nampa Store Manager, he was told that there was going to be a chili cook-off, the chili was to be made at the store event. So Loren brought all that he needed to make his GREAT Antelope Chili! The winner of the Chili Cook-off would receive a $250.00 Gift Certificate.
Loren finished the chili, and was placed in front of the booth, then Ben , store manager brought some small cups for taste testing. Bob took the chili and kept stirring it, so that the chili didn't burn or stick to the bottom of the pot. Bob then filled the taste cups as the tasters came to sample the chili.
Then Ben gave everyone at the event a ticket. The tickets were to be dropped into a bucket that Ben placed at the booth, if you liked the chili, place the ticket in the bucket to mark your vote for the one you liked most. Lorens competition was the Ducks Unlimited booth. They made a Pepperoni Chili, I went and tried it out, but, I have to say, that Lorens Chili is award winning chili, hands down!
Well, it was time to count the tickets in the bucket! Ben counted out the tickets, and said that he would announce the winner later.
Ben came on the speaker, said it was time to announce the winners. He said that the count was 27 to 30, Idaho Varmint Hunters wins the Chili Cook-off. Ben then brought the gift certificate and gave to Loren. Loren said that we would use it to purchase prizes for our competitions this fall and winter.
Loren, Thank You for making the GREAT Chili! You are the Chili Champion!
We would also like to Thank Bob, and Dwight, and Larry for coming down and hanging out. We appreciate all the help we can get!
We would also like to Thank Sportsman's Warehouse for allowing us to be apart of the Film Festival. We hopoe we can do it again.
