Inexpensive commercial hide processor in Idaho?

I thought there was a place in Idaho that processed hides pretty inexpensive. Anyone know who that was and how to get in contact with them? I've got an elk hide someone gave me and if I don't process soon I think it will get freezer burnt. I don't have time to mess with it. Got a rockchuck in the freezer now I don't have time to finish.

I haven't had any taxidermy done so can't recommend anybody. There's supposed to be a new one in Emmett but I don't have the name or number, think I gave their card to Gary (Timber Butte Outdoors). There's one at Horseshoe Bend too. I think I've got her card, I'll look. You could try googling.

Thanks for the links, but, for some reason I thought there was a place that did bulk tanning, they would price it from say 1-5, 6-25, 26-200 animals and they were pretty reasonable. I didn't check all the links as I've got to turn in for the night, but I thought for sure I got it from here and the links I did see were not the one.

They have a pricing .pdf that shows the breakdown. Their bulk pricing doesn't drop much, but they did decent work, so I didn't mind paying what they asked.

Email came back undeliverable but my questions were actually answered on their website after closer review, on how to prep,how to ship and pricing.

The problem is it sounds like it is still a bit more money than I want to part with, 10.00/sf for a large elk hide. The wife was giving me the look when we figured out it would probably be about 600.00 to 750.00. Looks like I might be doing it myself anyways. Don't really have the time or the resources but it is just one more adventure.

Never tried to tan anything. Thought about it several times but that's as far as it ever got.

Could have started on that Rockchuck you shot with us that I've got. That is an easy tan. It is still in the freezer and I'll probably try to get to it as soon as I've got the Elk hide going. If you do another head shot like you did on that one try it. Cabelas sells tanning solution that is much easier to use than some of the other ways to do it. It comes in an orange bottle. Follow the directions, make sure to keep stretching the hide while it is drying and it goes easy. The smaller animals you do not have to thin the hide.

Maybe I'll give it a try but don't know what I'd do with a tanned rockchuck hide!

Well, because of the smell of the badger, it is a garage pelt. I could never get rid of the badger smell. The deer hide came out fine as well as the ground squirrel, they got permission to come inside. My grandkids love them.
