Those are pictures of my first badger for 2015. Me in the green shirt, other guy is my uncle. Uncle, friend George and I weent out to "no tell 'em flats" today to shoot whisztle pigs. Uncle shot a weasel first thing then we shot a few 'pigs. We were driving down the road and I spotted this badger. I had to get out of the jeep, get my gun out of the back seat, get my ammo out, load the gun and he sat there all that time. Rested on the door and shot him DRT! Went out to get him and I'd hit him square in the left eye, no exit, no pelt damage. It was a very heavy badger, probably 25/30 lbs. Gun was Ruger #1, .218 Bee, 40 gr. Nosler Varmageddon. Good Badger medicine! Should have prbably kept the hide for a rug but didn't. Lasered at 85 yds. We wound up shooting quite a few whistle pigs too. Good in the hunting fields. Big thanks to Gary for posting the pictures for me.

Went out yesterday and roamed the desert all day yesterday, didn't see nary a badger. Quite a few whistle pigs but not as many as I expected. We never took a shot at a whistle pig though. The guy I was with really wanted a badger to make a full mount so we concentrated on trying to find him one. It was an overcast day and rained a little on the way out there, that may have had something to do with it. It does seem to me that I see more badgers on nice clear sunny days. Saw several Eagles out there though.
