So I am new to air gunning and live in the Caldwell ID area wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction to get some black birds or basically any kind of air gun hunting just want to get out and do it more when whistle pig season is out..

Be careful, black birds are protected. Go after starlings, sparrows, feral pigeons, eurasian doves.

tgomez82,
Go drive around in the country, find feedlots, dairies, farms, and such, stop find the owner, shake his or her hand, and ask if you can shot the pigeons, starlings, and sparrows from around his farm barn yard or dairy with your airgun.
Good Luck, let us know how you did. Post pictures with your story! Gary

That is a great way to get your foot in the door for some private land coyote calling permission. Once you prove to the land owner that you are responsible in not shooting his livestock, barns, his house, and you are not going to leave gates open, allowing his livestock is able to get out, etc.... that land owner will be willing to allow you to clean up the coyotes or foxes that is causing him and his livestock problems.
Do us proud, represent all of us varmint hunters well, and you will reap the rewards.

Thanks again Gary I appreciate the advice! And I am happy to report I have found my first farmer, my uncle works for a dairy farmer in the area and after contacting him this morning has given me permission to clean up unwanted rodents and predators entering his land!! A few pigeons down this morning and scouted the area to see where I would set up my first stand on Tues since that is my day off this week! Thanks again for your great advice it is much appreciated!
