Winter 07-08 Yearling Red pup is out abit over 100yrds off of the gravel. Wind is at her backside. She is balled-up sound asleep. Appeared to be a female? from her small features. Local pr, allowed her to stay in their territory all winter. Sharing their old den hole during Winter storms as well. In all of my yrs, this is the 1st time I ever seen such a thing. Same Winter, I seen a local pr of coyotes do the same. Again another 1st. Some say this is typical. In all of my yrs, it's pretty dang rare around here, that for sure. Another thing that I have experienced about sleeper canines is. They are harder to call, as compared to one that is on the move hunting/traveling, whatever. As I've tried both. Same yearling, different angle.
