Took an enjoyable trip to Yellowpine with Gary & Dave (my "unk") yesterday. We drove along the so.fork of the Salmon River on the way up, had lunch in yellowpine and drove back down Johnson Creek. We saw, 4 or 5 bald eagles, several pine squirrels and chipmunks, also saw a few Colombian ground squirrels and Gary got in some practice with his .45 ACP on them. We saw one rockchuck and I bagged it with Gary's 6 m/m. 6 m/m Rem. get's 'er done! We didn't see any wolves or wolf sign, saw deer tracks in a couple places and coyote "scat" in the road. I'd like to call that area some time. It was a long day but good trip with good friends. Good to get away for a day. Yellowpine is an awsome place, temp. was 80 degrees there. By the way, they have an excellent hamburger at the cafe there.

Just finished the kitchen floor grout. Got a ways to go with the entry and laundry room tile floor to go but this is a good start. Have had zero time for most anything else for 6 weeks, working nights and weekends beside my full time job but did skip Tuesday for 1-1/2 hours to go trap shooting. I was very sick of working day and evenings.

Ok you lamo's, nobody posts hardly at all anymore. What's the deal? I finally finished all the flooring downstairs, hardwood and porcelain tile, and have missed nearly all of my drag racing season but 1 race and most of bird hunting season because of it and now have to get the house ready for the in-law Christmas which will take until Christmas and then back to duck/goose hunting till near the end of January.

And to celebrate I'm working on hopefully a quick round or two of trap or skeet or both and then to work on my 40 grain .223 ladder and see if I can get under 3/8" with a couple new loads with my AR with my long range upper. Thing weighs a ton and is only going to be used with bipod in the field or at the range. Then after figuring which loads are the most accurate I'll make a couple batches to figure drop from 100 to 200 and then figure velocity, then get my BDC figured for accurate long range shooting, at least up to 400yds.

I haven't been doing much hunting lately. Seems like something else always comes up. Went to Vegas for Thanksgiving, I've got company now I hope to get out and do some calling later this week. I only got out twice to hunt deer and only saw does. If the geese and ducks ever start coming in I might try to get a few shots at them. Tried fishing a little in the Snake River yesterday, no luck, I think the bass are all wrapped in blankets an not biting! That's about it for me.

A friend from another board put me onto his pet load with .223 with H335 and I'll have to say, it worked for me too. I adjusted for lighting and didn't get the tape measure where it would show that it was 1/4" at 100 yards but appears slightly bigger from camera position, and then I boffed it but still put 3 in 3/4" at 200 yards. My loads I've been working on my own, and now I have 5 of them at 3/8" at 100 yards and vary from 40 grain to 60 grain bullets and another 3 at 1/2" at 100 yards. Now to fine tune one group that is at 3/8" with a half grain difference of H322 and see if I can get it down to 1/4" too and ran out of time to finish the 3rd ladder with 2015 powder. This is with my AR. Broper, c'mon, I think you may be weekening and start wanting one...the proof is in the pudding that they can be accurate. But, I did have to get a better barrel than the stock one it came with. That's my H322 on the right that I'm going to try to fine tune as it is 3/8", but I'll be happy anyhow if that is the best it does.

Nothing wrong with a 3/8" group at all!

Come to the dark side Broper and pick up a modern sporting rifle, you may like it. This is not like riding a moped and thinking it is fun but don't want anyone to know about it, this is like riding a 500ci dirt bike that is built to the hilt and you don't mind if people know about it.

Went calling out in the Owyhees with George this morning. We didn't see or hear any coyotes. Saw a few crows and magpies, that's it. Fun trip but it would have been nice to at least seen one. May try again next week.

Hmmm, I don't know, you get pretty rowdy sometimes. I'll discuss it with George.
