Hello thumper, Welcome to the IVH forums. Glad you found us. Your arsenal sounds like some good stuff. Please post some pictures of them when you can, so we all can see what you have! Night hunting? You can night hunt varmints, coyotes, raccoon, badgers, fox, skunks, As for wolves, Wolves are classified as a big game animal in Idaho. The methods of take and weapons restrictions for wolves are the same as for other big game animals. For more more information, please visit IDFG's website or refer to the 2012 Big Game Seasons and Rules brochure, which also contains information on wolf hunting season regulations. fishandgame.idaho.gov/content/question/can-you-hunt-wolfs-night-using-night-scope-over-baitIn Idaho, you have to go to IDF&G and secure a Spotlighting permit. Then you have a bunch of hoops to jump through if you are hunting BLM Public Lands! First before you decide to go spotlighting, you have to call IDF&G, and then the County Sheriff of the county you will be hunting in. Second, if there are any Big Game Season open in the area you want to hunt, you can't spotlight that area. There are a bunch more regulations and rules that have to be adhered to! Also, even if you have a Flir and infrared scope, you have to have a permit to hunt at night. The Idaho State Law (In IDF&G Regs) states that hunting or shooting will be from 1/2 hour before sunrise, to 1/2 hour after sundown. Look forward to meeting you and chatting some this evening! Gary

In writing is good! We have had to many run ins with IDF&G to not play CYA! No one in the IDF&G actually is on the same page at any one time!
I am glad to know that there is no permit needed if you are using a night vision scope or equipment!
If you get it in writing, I would like to read it! Just to be sure for myself!
Thanks Gary
