Very interesting. I've been reading everything I can on shotgunning coyotes. I'm anxious to give it a try. Also want to do some patterning and testing with my gun, Rem. 870 with 28" bbl.

Yeah I am going to try this also. Even though I don't have a Coyote Choke, I do have a Extra Full Turkey Choke, and a IC and Modified Choke tubes, I need to get a Full Choke tube.
I have a Remington 870 Express Turkey Gun, with a 24 inch barrel. Although I have shot coyotes with it, I have never put it on paper to see what the patterns were like. But this article, has made my endorphins, start to fire off, about how my gun really does pattern. I have always used the Turkey choke, but now I am wondering if I should have been using the Improved Cylinder choke all along?!
I am also wondering if barrel length on my shotgun is going to make a difference in pattern conformity??? I understand that it probably has to do with the distance I can reach out and touch something, compared to a long barrel shotgun say a 26 or 28 inch barrel.
I used to shoot,(when I could get them, long ago!!!) Copper coated 3" BB shot, and it worked fine on coyotes, 40 yard shots were no problem, but at that distance, the shot numbers on a coyote were low, something like 5 to 15 pellets in the whole body, not all in the vitals!
I am not going to be able to purchase the expensive Heavy Shot Coyote Shot shells to try, so I will be trying #4 Lead Buck, T shot, BB shot, BBB shot, and some # 2 shot in lead and in steel shot. I may have to start reloading shot shells again to get the loads my gun wants to digest, and pattern well! We will see!!??
So! All you Coyote Caller Shotgunners, get out there and pattern your guns, see what works for you best, post pictures and tell us your story. Then go out and put down some dogs with your shotgun and load, then post the pictures and story for us all to learn and enjoy!
Good Luck, Have Fun, and Be Safe! Gary

Yeah, I'd like to try some copper plated BB's and copper plated 2"s. I want to patern my Carlson's Coyote choke at around 60 yds. It's supposed to do good at longer ranges. A couple guys on another forum said they have killed coyotes at 70yds. with it. The only other choke tube I have is the factory mod. I want to get imp. cyl. and full. I rfeally want to try the Hornady Magnum Coyote loads too, if I can ever find them.
