I live in Nampa and have been a member of IVH for 3 yrs but always have hunted by myself. I think that it is time to find a hunting partner. I have been hunting for over 40 yrs and been hunting coyotes for over 13 yrs. I started out with my brother in law and he lost interest. I know its not safe to ever hunt alone, so I would love to find a hunting buddy to share in my passion to hunt coyotes. I try to hunt at least once a week on Wednesday and am dissabled so I use a atv and walk the last couple of hundred yards to my stand. If there is anyone that is interesred please IM me or I can be Emailed at kyotehunter@gmail.com

Hi kyotehunter I live in Boise and I am just getting started in varmint hunting I have a rifle that I will be sighting in soon and I hope a shotgun for X-mas. I too don't like the idea of hunting alone. saftey in numbers. I too am on SSDI. I don't have IM But I fave facebook , skype , an e-mail. at the first of the year I am planning on getting my license and what ever tag is required. I have hunted deer awhile back but its been some time.

I have another question. since I am so new to this I have absolutely nothing in the way of camo. I know its helps to have it but what is the minimum to have? getting me covered in camo is going to cost a grand or better.

Not necessarily, I have bought most of my camo at walmart believe it or not, I am not a big fan of shopping there but it is hard to beat a long sleeve camp shirt for under $10, my bare minimum when I head out is some kind of head cover, hat, beanie, ball cap, anything to cover my hair, some kind of face cover a scarf baclava or something of that sort, Sportsmans in nampa has a good variety for $12-$20 I believe and even walmart has some options, then something to cover my torso a camo coat, sweater or long sleeve depending on how cold it is, you could always buy a light coat and layer underneath according to how cold it is. My legs sometimes I go camo sometimes a natural color some sort of brown tan or green. Hope this helps, and good shootin!

It can cost that much but you can get set up in camo quite a bit cheaper than that. If you but at Sportsmans or Cabela's it will cost you a lot. Check out Wal-Mart, Bi-Mart and watch for sales. There are always sales when hunting seasons start and around the holidays. The new Tractor supply stores have been having some good sales on camo. It doesn't all have to match either, in fact it's better if you mix and match, it seems to break up your profile better. It is important to cover all bare skin. You'll need some insulated bibs or coveralls for dead of winter. I've been out sitting on a stand when it was 9 below and it is very important to have warm clothes. It's best to layer your clothing, you can wear anything warm and put a lighter layer of camo over it all if you want. Just make sure your completely covered.

It has been said a guy went hunting in a Santa Suit and it was more important to be still and out of the wind than to wear camo. But that being said, I do believe they see blue. Red is a gray to them.

A lot of coyotes were killed before camo became so popular and it can still be done. But, I think that camo breaks up your outline better than solid colors and I think if you don't have your face and hands covered it's like a neon sign to them, or so I've been told.

Thank you all for the response to my questions. I can tell this will be a good group to be with. I'm hoping to be ready to go right after the first of the year. My scope should be back then from repair and I can get it re-mounted and bore sighted. Oh and get my license. when I do I will be looking for a hunting buddy(s). This should be fun when things get rolling. Before I forget I do have some handicap issues to deal with and I deal with that as needed.

Yahoo I finally made it got my member card and I'm going to try and make it to the next meeting. Hopefully my "New Scope" back from repair at Nikon so I can get it mounted and ready to rock. Note if you buy Nikon scope check the turrets for alignment.
