I've been hunting coyotes a few years now and am looking for info on tournaments. I do use a call not electronic. I stick with distressed rabbit and the coyote rage howler seems to work for me. Also open to new calls and ways. Thanks for your time

WELCOME to the Idaho Varmint Hunters Forums.
We have coyote contests all winter. In fact we have a one day hunt coming up this weekend, Registration Friday evening, and hunt all day Saturday from daylight to before 6pm. $30.00 per 2 person team. Both team members need to be at registration and weigh-in!
We also will have the Idaho Coyote Classic State Championships in January.
In April/May we will have the Whistlepig Tournament
In June the Badger Tournament
There is a Calendar of Events in the About Idaho Varmint Hunters forum.
Also all the contests are posted in the IVH Club Information Catagory on the front page (index page).
See you Friday evening - Registration from 6 to 7 pm, Rules Reading from 7 to 8 pm.
Hope to see and meet you Friday Night at Tom's Cabin Cafe in Emmett. Come early if you want to have dinner, some of the best home cooking you can wrap a lip around!

When I was calling with Eric, we took turns on mouth calls. He'd call then a minute or two later I'd call then him, then me etc. Once in awhile we'd blow mouth calls at the same time. We were trying to do something different that they hadn't heard a hundred times. Seemed to work. Once in awhile we'd do like Gary said, play coyote howls on the e-call while we blew distressed rabbit on mouth calls. I don't try to howl much with a mouth call because I haven't really got that down and don't want to scare them off.
