Pretty much self explanatory. This coyote just crested a hill & was hit with a cold stout Winter North-NorWester wind. Note his ears laid back some & eyes squinted. It is obvious Both coyotes & Red Fox don't like wind directly in their face, or the fronts of their ears. This picture shows/[one reason anyway]. Why they will zig-zag or neander angling a wind. It also shows, why when bedded. They face a down-wind direction, with the wind at their backside/[or shoulder if you will].
