I really am not a fan of the 4.5lb pull on the stock trigger so I've go a Timney coming. I have a handgun and shotgun at over 10 lbs, most my other handguns are around 6 but I like a lighter pull on my rifles. Anybody else change triggers in their Remington 700 ADL or similar to a Timney or other type and did your accuracy improve? I'm shooting fairly good now, I just want better.
My Savage .17hmr has an accutrigger set at 2.5lbs and it is about perfect for me on smooth pulls.

Got back from the range and nearly anything I shot at for 200yds was under .5 MOA now with ammo that was about 3/4 MOA before, but I did clean the gun real good and got a couple fouling shots out of the way first. It is set at 2-3/4lbs and I wish I would have set it less but this close to hunting, I'm ready to go and going to stop messing with it since it is shooting pretty good. Still messing with the scope it shot 3 out of 4 into one ragged hole at 200yds, only bad part it was 1" to the right so a quick click on the scope left, only 3/8" off center at 200yds now, height still near perfect, I'm leaving it as is till I run out of factory loads and start doing my own. I really think I should have traded out triggers before now as this Timney seems to be working fantastic.

Most 700's can be adjusted and tuned pretty good. I had a trigger done on VLS and it is excellent. It's right at 3 pounds and nice and crisp.

I actually started to take a stab at working on the stock trigger and it had the clear glue over it so they could see if you messed with it and I took the glue off but could not seem to find the right size allen, put some of the wife's clear finger nail polish on it and put it back together. I think now I have the right allens and if I hadn't got the new trigger I probably would have gone at it again.

Thinking about the pull it seemed a tiny bit stiffer than my gun with 2-1/2lbs. Thought I had it at 2-3/4lbs but I'm right at just over 3lbs when checked after coming back from the range but it has no creep and still is an easy pull. I was going to adjust it again but since I'm sighted in, was pretty much shooting under .5MOA, I'll rough it for now. I may adjust it after hunting season is over.

Doesn't sound to bad. On a hunting gun I don't like them much less than 3 lbs.
