Dave, Bob and I headed out for a wolf/coyote hunt Friday morning. We made our first stand on a ridge on forest land north of _____ and cranked up the FoxPro. After about 10 minutes Bob alerted me to a coyote standing on the opposite ridge just staring in our direction. A couple of minutes later a second yote appeared but apparently apprehensive about the setup. Bob started a mouth call and the first yote started coming down the ridge using the bushes as cover. The second yote was really barking up a storm….Bob whispered for me to take the shot (248yds across the ridge). I put the crosshairs on the coyote spine and pulled the trigger. It looked like the yote was down behind the rock but Bob said a coyote had hightailed it over the ridge. We weren’t sure which one it was…..so being stubborn and not wanting to admit that I had missed I started the arduous hike down one ridge, up the opposite ridge (no yote) and back down and then up again…whew! Needless to say it was a good day in some beautiful country with good company. Geo. O Can you find Bob in this picture? We stopped and had lunch at the café! Welcoming Committee or Café Greeter.
