I'm hoping to go some time this year to Idaho possibly to talk one of you into taking me on a coyote hunt. Any of you also do birds like geese or duck around that area? I'm currently licensed for those too in Idaho and hate to see my license go to waste by not getting either one of those since I bought it when we were mainly looking for Whistle Pigs and a badger if they showed but it seems most the badgers were coming out after we were gone back to Washington.
Early goose starts September 10th for 6 days and then off for about a month, then pheasant, goose and duck all start kicking in fairly soon about mid October, as well as deer. Love the geese, not much tastes better but I still would like to get a coyote to skin and tan. I'd put it right beside the badger. Well not really. The badger has been relegated to the garage as the wife does not think it smells proper for her house.

Just looked at the calendar, I think I may try to get down there around Thanksgiving as that will give me at least 2 days off and a couple for driving there and back and maybe add a day or two in there somewhere by using some vacation days. I was talking Christmas time and was just reminded all the inlaws are coming to my house, and that probably would not go over well even though I like them, I'd rather be hunting.
