A CZ .17 Hornet Glamour Shot from the High Desert of CA

Hey all!

Although I didn't get a chance to shoot at any varmints while I was up in Idaho last week, I made a point to stop and check some areas out down here in California on our way home. We ran across a bunch of Jack Rabbits, but the wind made made them hold tight and run far when pushed! Before I packed up, I took a minute to take some glamour shots of my newest rifle, the CZ Model 527 in .17 Hornet!

I haven't been shooting centerfires for a while, so this was a nice change! Maybe next time on the jackrabbits though!

Nice gun. My uncle has a CZ .17 HMR and it is super accurate. Those groundsquirrels look quite a bit biggernthan our "whistle pigs", bet they're a lot nof fun to shoot too. Glad you could come and visit, to bad you couldn't have stayed around for the badger tournament. Had a good one this year.

Thanks guys! I have a bunch of CZ's, one in .17 HMR, a couple in .17 HM2 and even one in 5mm Remington Rimfire Magnum (it's a custom conversion). They are very nice guns and always accurate.

Some of our ground squirrels get really fat and big. We've come across some real monsters that compare to prairie dogs!

I wish I was around for the badger tourney. It sounds like it would have been a blast!

It was nice speaking with you as well! I drove down and checked out some of the whistle pigs south of town and you are right, they are really small!! Hopefully, I'll be able to get back soon with more time to shoot WP's!

It looks like I'll be heading over to Arizona for Prairie Dogs in a couple of weeks, so it should be a blast!
