Do you carry a handgun while hunting or do you carry a handgun everyday? I carry everyday! I also believe in being prepared if a situation were to present its self, I don't want to be standing there wishing I could have done something, while someone is attacked or killed. My everyday carry gun is a Springfield Armory 1911 Loaded Model 45acp. I keep it stoked with either 230 hardball or 230 Semi wadcutter ammo. I also carry it in the field, and I have cratered a bunch of critters with it. The 45acp round really stops those murading and attacking badgers, and wacks the crap/guts out of the squirrels. Are you proficient and prepared to use your handgun in any situation? Show us your handguns? Good Hunting! Gary

As you well know Stickman, Like the man said It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. I carry at all times, and between the two of us when we are together it's like an arsenal on wheels. Loren

Yep, I hear you! Like trying to drive a nail without a hammer!
We do carry at least one gun each, and enough ammo to start a small skirmish, even when we are just going to town! Better prepared, than not!
It is my opinion that every person that is legal to carry, should have a gun with them, no matter if it is a long gun or a handgun.
An armed society is a polite society!
Every person should be well trained in the use of the gun, and be mentally and physically prepared and ready to use their gun in a situation.
This means one thing! purchase, or reload a lot of ammo and spending several hours a week at a range shooting, not just punching paper, but practicing with different targets, moving and stationary, in different scenarios.
This kind of practice will form muscle memory, but it will let your body learn what your gun feels like and functions in different positions.

In a fine "shall issue" state like Idaho, I would be remiss if I didn't carry a handgun. That said, I carry a 3rd Gen. S&W 6690 9mm, daily, and a S&W model 28-2 .357 when in the boonies.

Yep, I carry all the time and it depends on what I'm doing for which gun I got on me. Dress clothes, LCP in .380 auto. Work clothes with Carhart pants and larger pockets, KelTec PF-9 in 9mm. Winter clothes in holster and sweatshirt or untucked plaid, S&W Sigma in .40cal. My prefered gun but I carry the least. I work for a couple gun grabbers and it is a bit hard to conceal at times. No picture of the LCP, only the PF-9 and Sigma

One of my son-in-laws just bought an XD in .40cal, and he loves it. I like XD's an awful lot too but the sights, just not enough front sight to fill between the rear sight. Trigger feal is good.
