I saw my first stone Charles, aka rock chuck, today. Gonna have to get after 'em soon.

Good for you. I'm cleaning guns for the trip as I've got to get to the range after that and get them dirty enough for constant accuracy. Trip is a little ways out but I've been finding rough to get to the range. Last time it was blowing so hard the target stands were blowing over. Had to cancel after 3 shots. My good Montana Rock Chuck site has been squashed by the farmer's daughter that took over the land. She loves Rock Chucks. I got 10 there one day so it is prime land for them.

I'd like to find a spot like that for chucks. Gary and I have a secret little hidey hole for chucks. There's not many there so we usually only shoot that spot once a year. We may go check it out next week if the weather is nice.

Best of luck. I just cleaned my rock chuck gun for the varmint trip, just in case in Montana my hunting guru found another place. Also cleaned 4 others for the trip, couple of .223 type guns where 24" barrel is the shorter of the two guns for prairie dogs in Montana and both rimfires rifles for ground squirrels in Idaho, the .22lr and the .17hmr. Should have enough time to get the the range and get them setup since it is a little ways off. I've got a couple .22lr pistols I'd like to try out too. One has killed quite a few, the other it will be a virgin trip. I'm so ready to go since I missed so much hunting and shooting last year.
