Gary and I were out in the hills today looking for new country to hunt and we unexpectedly ran onto some rock chucks. Gary shot 2 with his 6 m/m and I shot 3 with my 22/250. Fun. fun. fun ! We were hoping to run across a coyote or two but no luck there.

Good job. Our Rock Chuck spot in Montana looks like the old farmer's daughter has it now and does not feel the same as the farmer that they need to be regulated.

Have you ever hunted around the Okanogan area? I've heard and read that there's quite a few 'chucks in that area.

Nope, we hunted rock chucks around the Lewistown area in Montana outside the town.

I talked to a guy from Okanogan, Wash. once. He said they hunted them in an apple orchard, the chucks climb up in the trees. They actually shot them out of the trees.
