I got a call today from Ryan Stowell, he asked me if I had a scales, Yes! I do, but I would have to call Loren and get the scale from him. Ryan asked me on the phone if I want to see the rockchucks he shot today, said he was in Emmett. He told me that he put one on the bathroom scales it said it was 19 pounds, I told Ryan that I wanted to see a rockchuck pig that big! I told Ryan that we could meet at the Maverik in about 30 mins. So I called Loren told him what was going on, and asked if I could use the scales. He said that he would have to go dig the scales out, he then asked me where he want to meet me at. I told that we were going to meet at Maverik. When I arrived, and met Ryan and Caron, he opened the trunk of his car, all I could see was rockchuck fur! and I am talking about the biggest chucks I have seen in a longtime. So Loren arrived and handed me the scales. Ryan pulled out the biggest of the 11 chucks, and we weighed it. It weighed in at 11.5#. Ryan was shooting a Howa 1500 in 204 Ruger. He said these chucks were taken out to 675 yards, average distance was 400 yards! Todays 5/23/2016 Chucks: Last weeks chucks:

So, did you find out where he's getting them? A guy told me last Sunday that he shot an 18 lb. 'chuck. I don't know if he actually weighed it or if that was a guesstimate. He said he went down on the Nevada border. I told him that was getting into the wood chuck class. When Ryan was at the last meeting he told me that he was into long range shooting. Showed me some pictures of some nice 'chucks he had shot. Years ago I shot 'chucks down in the hills out of Reno, Nev. They were bigger 'chucks than we have here but they spent their lives eating alfalfa. The farmer gladly gave us permission to shoot them. We need to get out and shoot some more. When do you want to go Gary?
