Three of us went out yesterday to look for rockchucks. We managed to get five. George and I each got two and "Unk" Dave got one with his .17 HMR. He hit it solid at 100 yds. but the .17 just doesn't have enough oomph to anchor them and it crawled into the rocks. I was shooting my .218 Bee with 40 gr. Nosler Varmageddons. It puts them down pretty good. George was shooting his .223 with 55 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips and V-Max. It does a real good job on 'chucks. Maybe I can get a couple pics up later.

I'd say those are about as done as they get!! Good shooting I have always wanted to go on a rock chuk hunt but don't have the slightest idea where to go looking for them.

Most areas around here have been pretty well shot out. You have to go east around the Twin falls area. Look for rocky outcroppings on BLM land.

Thanks. One was shot with my .218 Bee, the other a friend shot with his .223. We shot more that day but they were in places where they couldn't be recovered.
