Eric as long as I am helping with the reloading process put me to work all you want. Afterall hands on is the best way to learn! JR I would also be very very interested in the seminar if you put one on. I am going to buy a reloading station just waiting for the craze to die down some so I could actually find bullets and powder for my 223.

Hows about we start at the beginning with a discussion about various types of loading tools and what each is good for, and why you might want it. I'm pretty sure I either have or have used just about everything.
Next we can talk about fitting your reloads to your chamber, and various ways to measure critical dimensions like headspace. Actually just explaining 'headspace' might take a bit, or not, depending.
What do you think?

Perfect. Cody and I did a bit of reloading today for the .40 Cal pistol and talked briefly on rifle loading. Then we got sidetracked and went and did some shooting. I definitely want to hear your views on the different tools and components and what you've found helps the long range accuracy.

Cool! I didn't mention it before, but I also reload .38 SPL, .357 MAG, .40 S&W, .44 MAG & .45 ACP Been known to shoot a couple hundred yards with a 10" .44 MAG iron sighted T/C Contender, and actually hit NRA Handgun Shillouette rams about 75% or so. Used a conventional weaver position. Of course at the time I was shooting several hundred rounds a week, and competing every weekend. Don't think I'd do nearly as well now. Still have that Contender and barrel. Might have to see if I can still shoot it!

Eric and the rest of you .. We rolled into Caldwell on Saturday about 5 pm and got all set up in our temporary space. It rained overnight and felt like we had pulled some of that "Marine Air" you hear about along with us! Yesterday was dreary but overnight it got below freezing and of course the water hose froze, so this morning was spent dealing with heat tape, foam and electricians tape. I dare that hose to freeze now! Seems it is going to take a week or more for the folks who moved out of the space we want, to finish the job, so in the mean time, since I can't do anything useful, I plan to go have a look at the BLM land to the North of us trying to find a good place to get to quickly where I can set up a long range. Any suggestions?

JR, Weve been looking forward to your arrival. Bob and I have been threatening to get out there and do some whistlepigging and coyote hunting for some time now. I missed getting out this weekend due to family stuff and the Idaho Sportsmans Expo IVH booth. But I wont be missing out on this weekend. Why dont we get together this weekend and go do some shooting? Anyone else thats interested let me know. Eric.

You've got it!
I've got to run to Cabellas anyway, I'll get a non-resident "varmint" license - not sure we will get to changing drivers licenses by the weekend ...
When, where, what time, and which gun? I'm guessing the 17HMR or .22LR for pigs, or are we after something bigger?
Wind blows like today S25-30 the .308 with 175's wouldn't be too much! But today is an excellent day to 'learn' the drift on the lighter bullets.
