Gonna give it another go in the morning. We're headed out with the hopes of a coyote or two, but also hoping for some badger action. We saw lots of fresh badger digs last time out.
Any tips for calling after a fresh snowfall or for coaxing in some badgers after locating a fresh dig?

Thanks moose99! I have yet to successfully call and shoot a predator. Had one coyote coming in a few weeks ago but it hung up at about 450 yards and stayed there until we left. He hightailed it out of the area when we stood up to leave.
I was planning on trying more coyote vocal sounds tomorrow because I figured they would be less commonly used sounds in my area. We're hunting an area that gets a bit of traffic. Not sure how much calling pressure though. But I had not thought about the sounds based on it being mating season. So thank you again. I appreciate it.

Thats where all my coyotes hang up at.. somewhere between 300 and 500 yds. Im still learning how to coax them in that extra distance. In the meantime Ive had to rely on flat trajectories and very little wind to place the distance shots correctly Ive really been looking for badgers but havent seen any action. Supposedly they dont hibernate during the winter so we should be seeing them occasionally. Good luck on your next outing. Post back and let us know how it went. Eric.

Finally managed to call some dogs. Actually saw 4 today. 3 while calling and one we snuck up on while he was napping. First one stayed out at 305, so I took her right there. Second one was caught napping while we were walking in. My buddy Nick took him at 150.

I thought we were keeping the map thing on the down low Dogslayer...! I was even gonna split the "big" profit from the pelts that we received from Rocky Mtn. Fur.
