I was just starting to purchase my clothing so when I get to finally go hunting I will be ready. I just have no idea what kind to buy. There are so many patterns and what not any input would be great. I was thinking jsut a lighter color/sage color and some darker wooded color is that correct or am I way off the mark? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

If your just using for varmints, I'd stick with the sage or desert patterens. But really it doesn't make much difference, just something to break up your outline. Some guys think it works betterif you mix and match. Sometimes I think all the different patterns are made to make sales to humans, not so much to hide them. After all, a few yeas ago hardly anyone wore camo and it seems there were just as many animals killed. Bob

Bobs got some camo that requires I tie a string to him.. or Id lose him in the desert I use a combination of different patterns. Most of it is the mossy oak breakup pattern. I did just get a full set of winter camo from these guys through Midway for a great price: www.naturalgear.com/homepage.aspx Ive been happy with their products so far and it doesnt break the bank either. Because your sitting and not moving for long periods of time, make sure to get something thats insulated or plan on layering up.

I've mentioned before that I wish Carhart would make their insulated coveralls in different camo patterns. I think it would be a good seller. The mossy oak brush pattern is good for varmint hunting also. And like Eric says, dress warm this time of year. I was layered up and still got kinda cold on the first couple of stands. More layers next time! Bob

Im no expert at the sport but we could certainly go out and give it a try together sometime. Maybe all three of us could head out one of these upcoming weekends?

That would be fun Eric. I have yet to attempt at even shooting or calling (never even used a caller before lol) so would be a good learning experience.

Alright then. This weekend looks busy with Christmas right around the corner. We'll have to try for the 29th or 30th. Let me know which day works for you best. We'll get Bob out there with us too

Is a face shield something I should buy for coyote hunting? I know they are more important for turkey and deer/elk but I wasnt sure if I needed one for coyote.

Yes! A head cover, face cover is important in coyote calling. Your face shines light a light bulb to a coyote.
Also a pair of camo gloves!

Just throw my 2 cents out there. I have also been shopping for new camo. I am leaning towards the Kings Camo desert shadow line. To me it seams to be one of the most reasonably priced. they have some great deals on top/bottom sets. I think the pattern would really blend with our high desert/sage environment.

Yeah, the King's Desert Shadow is about my favorite. The mossy Oak Brush is prety good too. If you watch King's website they have clearances every now and then, you can save some money!
