The one real thing I wanted to report is, that Loren hunted the Championships with a young man named Eric. A great guy!
Nick and Tim Hylton was there also. So was Matt and Avery!
But before I go any farther here, I have to make this statement: Hunting coyotes was very tough this weekend, just ask anyone that was hunting.
Loren and Eric brought in 2 coyotes. They should have had 5 but, they missed 2 coyotes, and shot a third that got down into a brushy creek bottom and disappeared on them.
Nick & Tim Hylton brought in 1 coyote, with a streak of bad luck following them.
Matt and Avery brought in 1 coyote also.
So, to rub a little salt into the wounds! LOL ;-) Team Loren and Eric beat Team Nick & Tim Hylton, and Team Matt and Avery! Yeah Loren and Eric, way to go!
But he was not able to beat Team Layne & Will Bangartner, they took 3rd place in the World's with 13 coyotes. Way yo togo guys! Congratulations!
If you guys and gals would please post your results, I would appreciate it very much. And tell us about your experiences with your hunting, and your experiences with the World's Contest, good or bad!
IVH & TBO actually did very well also. IVH made contact with just about everyone at the Contest at least 5 times, man I talked my butt off to people. And I sold a ton of product, I wish I would have had more slings, and carriers, and drags, and totes, ecaller slings with me. Well next year if we are invited back, I will have a bunch of stuff built, and bought, and whatever I need done.
Doug from Orion Calls sent me a box full of calls, I sold almost all of them.
I do have a few open reeds left, if you are interested in them.
I have 1- Laminate call ($18.00), 1- Solid Wood call (Mesquite $20.00), 4 Bad in Black Plastic Open reeds ($18.00), and I have 5 Engraved Contest Calls left: 1-SanPete Valley Contest ($22.00), 2- Wyoming BH&R Calls ($22.00), 1- NPHA 2011 Contest ($22.00), 1- NPHA 2012 Contest ($22.00), 13 Orion Decals ($4.00)
I actually got to shake hands and meet a bunch of guys I have wanted to meet for a longtime, such as? Big Al Morris and Garvin Young, Geoff Nemnich, Tom Austin, Scott Milkovich, and a bunch of others.
I was so stoked to be there, it was great to be in the presents of so many coyote/predator callers.
I would like to "Thank" everyone that went and represented the Club and TBO. It means so much to us. We appreciate you all, and hope to have you all as our representatives again at other contests and events throughout the Country. You all are "Awesome!!!" Thank You!!
OH Yeah, I was going to finsih the thing with Loren. So, Loren and Eric, talked about where to go to hunt, they decided on an area, that Loren had looked at on Google Earth, which looked good on the computer. Thursday evening after the Registration, Loren and Eric, went back to the hotel and loaded up, and left to go out and sleep in the truck, in the area they were going to hunt, well as it got light, they looked out the windshield, Loren said, it was as flat as a table top, with sagebrush about 6 to 8 inchs tall, so they spent most of the day looking for an area with some land features. They found some, made some stands, called a couple dogs, and missed, so no kills for the first day. He called me and said he was on their way back to the hotel for a hot shower and a soft bed. He said that they almost froze their behinds off.
Friday night/Saturday Morning sometime, someone came along and stole his 2 motorcycle gas cans full of gas, and the spare tire for his trailer, right out of the back of the truck, he had them chained together and locked to the pickup bed, someone with a bolt cutters came along and cut the chain, and took the stuff.
Then yesterday as we were leaving Elko, we had a flat on the trailer, so he had to go to Walmart and purchase a new spare tire. I feel so bad for him!!!
So, please write and tell us your expereinces with your trip!
Thank You
Gary
BTW: I will post pictures as soon as I can get them from Loren, off his camera.
