I met with Bob this morning at Tom's Cabin Cafe. With Bob was his Uncle Dave. Also we had a recently new member of the club, Dwight, he met us at the Cabin also.
After we had some lunch (Beans & Cornbread), we paid up, and off to the squirrel fields (BLM) we went.
When we got to the fields, there was a number of people already out shooting. So we went on past them as far as we could get away from them.
There were squirrels out, but not in force, like I expected. The grass is tall and thick, making it hard to see the Pigs, eventhough we managed to eak out a few squirrels each.
Here are few pictures of the day.
For those of you that don't know what a "Piute Ground Squirrel" looks like, here you go!
Meet Dwight - one of our new club members! It was good to have him out shooting with us today - Thanks Dwight!
Acting Club Vice President Bob:
Sorry, I didn't get any pictures of Dave, but here he is sitting in the truck, watching the action.
Bob and Dwight shooting:
We had a good time shooting with the gang. Thanks Guys! This is the kind of stuff that makes memories. Pictures help also.
Lets do it again soon.
If any Club Members or Prespective Club Members, want to be included in a hunt day - contact Gary or Bob, or just show up on Wednesday morning at 11am at the Tom's Cabin Cafe in Emmett (5 mile west of Emmett on Hwy 52, going toward New Plymouth).
BTW: I finished filling my pickup bed with trash that I picked up while out shooting - tires, chair, junk, junk, junk??
I will post a picture after I get a couple tomorrow! Before I go to the Gem County JAG Landfill.
Also, while we were having lunch, a guy come into the Cafe, walked to the counter, and I saw the waitress point toward our table, the man turned and walked over, and asked if were the ones with the pickup with the Idaho Varmint Hunters decals on his truck. Bob and I said "Yes! I am, Bob said He does! He introduced himself, said that he was with the Idaho Farm Bureau, and then stated that he wanted to do an article on us. He said that it would run in their publication. So, I gave him my card and told him that we were going to be holding the Rockchuck Rendezvous on the 19-20th, he said that he was going to call me, and make arrangements to come to Bliss and interview us at the Rendezvous. Cool Stuff! He said that the atricle will help with making contact with farmers and ranchers, to help with their varmint problems - YEAH!!!!!
Good Hunting & Be Safe! Always point your gun in a safe direction!
