Must not be any active caller/shooters on here. Or maybe just not interested.

tgomez82, Let us know how you do, pictures if you can get 'em. We like to hear stories and see pictures. You should think about signing up for the Song Dog challenge. It's a one day hunt a week from today. The more the merrier and it's fun.

I will definitley let you guys know how we do, it's looking pretty good my partner was out in the area where we will be calling tomorrow and he said he saw a couple good sized yotes, took all he had to not take a shot but he held off in hopes that we can get them called in a bit closer tomorrow! How does that challenge go ? We have talked about and kicked around the possibility of doing a tournament or two next year, just never done one so not sure on regs and stipulation or what have you.

After the sign in for every tournament we go over the rules and regs with everyone. Don't worry about being inexperienced at calling and shooting in tournaments. That's how you learn and we like having newcomers participate. We'll try to answer any questions you have except where we hunt. Give it a try.

Put down one yote today, our first stand was blown by some goose hunters at a field near by and for te first time eer there was some guys duck hunting by the river where we planned our second stand.. Looked as if our day was blown so we decided to make it a scout day.. Untill we came across a nice little rock formation that overlooks a small clearing with some hills about 125-150 yards out. So we decided what the hecklers give it a shot my partner started ranging while I set up the stand I was barely into my second sequence on my call and here she comes circling the hill through the sage.. Looking straight in out direction she troted rite in she within 50-60 yards when I swung my scatter gun at her and squeezed a shell off on her, I hurried my shot too much and missed she turned and burned to our right! She didn't get more then 100 yards when my partner spit a 55gr Nosler Ballistic tip out of his .223 and down she went. It was 10 min from when I tooted my first call to when we where done celebrating and all was said and done. You never know when a bad first stand will lead you to a successful 2nd stand that you just happen to stumble upon!

You never know what's going to happen when you start out. Your day wasn't completely blown anyway. Always fun and exciting to put one down. Thanks for posting your story. That's what we like and what the forum is for.

Thought I would have a story to tell here but wound up not hunting the tournament last Saturday. I helped Gary out with the sing up and check in. Guess I didn't miss much anyway. Teams didn't have much luck, only nine coyotes brought in.
