Went out this morning looking for badgers, hunted all morning and finally about 9:15 we saw one. "Unk" Dave hit him twice at 153 yds. with his .22 Hornet. He was hit hard but still squirming around so I hit him with my .222 and he went down for good. It was a half grown pup but still a badger. And, Nick, I hate to tell you this but I'm claiming .5 badger!

Forgot to say that we did see one other and bigger badger about a half hour later, it ran acroos the road in front of us but got into a hole before we could get stopped. We also saw 4 or 5 whistle pigs.

Nick, Thanks but for some strange reason I have a feeling that I couldn't afford your .5 badger! Bob

Got a whole one today, Nick. 131 yds., .222, 45 gr. Sierra. We saw four, two were running when we saw them and got down a hole fast, the other one I misjuged and shot just over his back. Fun stuff. Bob

We saw all of them before 8:30 a m. But, on the way home I saw two big fat rockchucks right out in the middle of a horse pasture, it was 1:15 p m and 90 degrees!

Will head out in the morning to look for badgers and scout for yotes, hopefully NICK does not have them all pinned up at Tim's house, I heard Tim was buying a lot of canned dog food:-) Loren

I thought you guy's might bring in a few of those yotes you picked up from the pound. I have been trying for a moose tag or I would have an archery antelope tag as well. Saw a couple of badgers this morning at first light but they would not get far from the hole, and I can not fit down in their living room for hand to hand combat. No problem on the hat if I trust bob to pay me tomorrow, I can trust you to pick one up ;-) Loren

That's strange, Bob's the most trustworthy guy I've ever met! I missed one and got one today. The first one was at 307 yds., I held just over it's back and the bullet went just over it's back. I've got to quit holding high on them. The second one was about 50 yds. and I could only see it's head sticking up looking right at us, I shot him right in the face. He never knew what hit him. He fell back in the hole and I pulled him out for a kodak moment and man was he a stinker! That's the only two badgers we saw today. We did see one coyote but he got away before I could get on him. Fun day anyway. And by the way, I paid for my hat today.

George and I went out this morning, didn't see even one badger. There was hardly a thing stirring, a few magpies is all. Bob

George is doing good. Hadn't seen him in awhile, it was good to see him and visit with him. I think we're going to try to get out one day next week again. It was pretty warm friday morning, I think that's what the problem was. Forgot to mention, we did see a big coyote. Bob

Hey Loren, That hat fight might be a good thing for the club. We could sell tickets and take side bets. Might turn out to be a good fund raiser.

Rode the 4-wheelers 72 miles today. Didn't hunt for anything & didn't see anything. To HOT. Hey Nick I did wear your hat on the ride and it got dust all over it. I shook it a couple of times and all the dust is gone. GOOD AS NEW.
